A New Style

Hi ya!

Well Xmas is just around the corner so I thought it was about time I learned a new style of earring.  I'd bought quite a few beading books while I was in Noosa recently on holiday to get some new ideas.

I found the below style which uses tigertail instead of headpins.  It was supposed to be easy, but it still took me a while to figure it all out ha ha

Hope you like them!

Have a great Xmas!  I'm hoping to learn some more new styles in the coming weeks :)

My First Market

Hi ya :)

It was a very early 4.30am wake up call on Sunday morning to get ready to go to the Browns Bay markets.  I arrived at the market at 5.15am with my no.1 helper (Paul).  There was a huge queue on the road waiting to get into the market, and we were really lucky to even get in!

It was a really long day, and I only sold 6 pairs of earrings to three customers. Hardly anyone even looked at my display :(  Paul has worked really hard making my awesome display board.

Most of the people at the market were interested in three things..

1) Fruit
2) Vegetables
3) Junk

I didn't have any of those things to sell.  I decided that Browns Bay isn't the right market for me so I will look for another to try this weekend.

My highlights of the day was getting to pat lots and lots of doggies that were there.  I kinda wished that Paul and I had bought our two doggies along (Boris and Ollie) but that would have been pure chaos lol

I bought my earrings into my work on Monday and sold 12 pairs during my lunch break..kinda made up for my poor sales on Sunday.

I've hit 86 sales so far.. can't wait to make it to 100.

The more I sell,  the more I can make!!

Back From Noosa

Hi There!

I just got back yesterday after a weeks holiday in Noosa with my partner Paul.  I feel super recharged after having such a great holiday :)  The weather was a bit crap, but we made the most of it.

It's funny how nice the retail staff are in Aussie.  So unlike the grumpy sods we have here in NZ.  I didn't buy much, but did find two great bead shops so bought back some new beads with me.  Paul was navigating the map to find the stores, and one of our 6km walks ended up being over 12km due to the navigational issues..  I didn't mind.  I can't read maps at all :)

Anyway, it's nice to be back home.  I missed my dogs and I'm back making more earrings.  I'm having a jewellery party at my home on the 6th of December and then taking more into work.  So busy, busy, busy!

I've attached some of my new creations from Noosa beads.  I've even found I can make really pretty gold earrings (thanks Trina).

Visiting Browns Bay Markets

Howday :)

Well I took a look at the Browns Bay markets today to scope out my competition and to get some ideas for my stall.  At the moment there aren't a lot of great jewellery stalls there.  Just one caught my eye, but I think my stuff is still nicer (ahh but I am a bit biased).  Lots and lots of people selling junk.  I'm sure a saw some second hand socks for sale ..

Anyway came home with some good ideas to set up my stall so need to get my "a into g" to get sorted.  Off to Noosa (yipee ki yay) this Friday for a week's fun in the sun, and then will have my first go at the market.  So it's busy, busy making as much jewellery as I can before I go away..

Beadaholic

Hi There

After several years of buying cute jewellery and my friends telling me that I should make my own jewellery, here it is.

I was initally nervous as I didn't think I'd be creative enough.. but voila..!!  I've discovered that an accountant can be creative and girly :)  I've found something that I am really passionate about.

I love each piece I've made and get such a thrill when people wear my creations.

I'm planning on having a stall at the Browns Bay markets in the next two weeks.. wish me luck!
